Two years into living in his Vancouver basement unit, Liam was editing videos in early December 2022. He heard someone knock on his window (since his music was too loud to hear the door), so he opened his front door where he met a pretty new tenant that moved in a couple months prior on the main floor. Her name was Ellina Mosko. Ellina had lost her house key and needed help to get back inside. After using a spare key from the landlord, Liam helped Ellina back inside upstairs where they had talked, drank tea and ate some food that Ellina made. Liam then brought Ellina down to his unit and showed her a video he created for an elderly couple detailing their lives. Ellina started to get emotional and Liam got her tissues and gave her an uninvited, awkward hug. The days went on and they would start meeting to watch movies together, cook for each other and talk deeply about life – especially about Ellina’s Ukrainian upbringing. Ellina asked Liam to build her bed frame, and she would cook delicious food for them to enjoy. Within the first couple weeks of meeting each other, they went on their first date to the Vancouver Christmas Market where Ellina coined the nickname ‘Kartoffel’ for Liam after they found out they both knew what potato meant in German – and enjoyed some of it at the market. They both realized they felt something for each other, but it was Christmas break and Liam went back to Ontario for a month to see family in Ontario. Liam made sure to get a couple more hugs from her before he left (one extra one since his first flight was cancelled), and then they reunited once he came back in January. With a little nudging from Ellina, Liam officially asked Ellina on their first dinner date at Cactus Club where they had a romantic time and discussed everything they were looking for in a relationship, they were both on the exact same page and even talked about children. After that date Liam worked up the courage to ask Ellina for a kiss, but she said no with a smirk on her face. It didn’t take long before he got that first kiss, and only a few months before they were saying ‘I love you’, and a few more after that for Ellina to decide to move with Liam to Ontario to be around family and start a life together in their new chapter. Their happiness and love is boundless, and we hope to create many more happy memories together!
